South Korea currently has 3 million digital currency investors, accounting for 7.5% of the country's 40 million population, mainly consisting of males aged 20-30. South Korea places restrictions on all Initial Coin Offerings (ICO) without specific legal provisions, but is currently drafting relevant legislation. Additionally, banks only open accounts for the top four South Korean exchanges, including UPbit, allowing for fiat currency transactions. The taxation of digital currencies is still undetermined, and the South Korean Supreme Court has recognized the value of Bitcoin. The government is also preparing to launch local digital currencies.
